Finished and cord located

Hello,

So I finished the backstitching last week but then when I was moving apartments I put the cord in a place that was safe and forgot where that place was. But now it is found, so I can once again submit my pictures. I am currently working on the salmon piece and will post an update soon.

Just Backstitching left

Hello,

I managed to finish up all of the base stitching and have just the backstitching left. There is a fair amount for each of the leaves and some around the ears and nose as far as I can tell. I am hoping to be finished by the end of the weekend so I can really focus on the Salmon.

See everyone next week with a finish hopefully

Another corner finished

The bottom left corner of the tiger is now complete. So only one more corner left and then back stitching. The rest of the tigers body seems to be stitching up quickly and I love the depth that the stripes add to the piece. I have been doing a bit each day and with the hockey playoffs and baseball starting I will be setting more time aside to stitch and watch.

Here is where I left off last time:
And now:

And here is a picture of the bobbins, my older sister gave me the binder circles quite a few years ago and they are perfect for threads that don't have numbers like the dimension kits.

See everyone next week,

Update on Tiger and Fighter

Hello,

I have a quick update on the tiger and the fighter. I have finished two corners of the tiger and am moving to the left hand corner now. I finally bobbined all of the floss and it is making me much more likely to stitch this piece. The thread was on a long cardboard piece before and kept getting tangled so the bobbins are much better. I was trying to hold out since I am more than half way through the project but it doesn't take that long to bobbin and makes me much happier.

After:

You can see the outline of the leaves under the tiger's chin. I also finished the sword of the Fighter and forgot to take a picture of the pattern. When I get home I will update the post with a picture.
I am going to work on the body and shield next and last will work on the head as it has the most colour changes. My plan this week is to keep working on these two with more of a focus on the tiger.

Update:
Here is the design map that I am following, I will do some backstitching at the end on the fingers and probably the face.

Tiger and Stitch for Syria

Hello,

I have done only a little bit of the tiger the past two weeks as school has been busy. I am almost done the corner and then want to just move across the bottom to get the face framed. Below are the before and after pictures.

 After:

I also finished a very small project called Stitch for Syria on behalf of concern. You can join the campaign here and the pattern will get sent to you. You just have to sew up the small pattern and then mail it to a UK location. It is a pretty design and only took a few hours to do up.

Have a good week everyone,

Tiger Update

I have now reached the farthest part of the pattern on all sides, all be it there is only one stitch made on the far left but still nice to have that visual of how much needs to be completed still. I also managed to fill in the right hand side completely and I think that the leaves are going to look very nice once they surround the tiger. I am planning on doing the bottom right and then returning to the tiger's body and stripes.

As you can see I am about 60% done I would say although there is less confetti in the remaining piece so it should take less time.

I didn't get a chance to work on the sockeye last week and might not get to this week either.

Hope everyone is having a good start to February,

Rebekah

Weekly Update

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to get back on a weekly update schedule. I was able to stitch a bit on both the sockeye and the tiger this week so both are advancing slowly. The tigers face is now mostly finished and I am going to be working on the chin and mouth this week. Here are the picture updates
Before:
 After:
You can see that the bottom ear is filled in as well as some of the darker regions on the face that I had been leaving. I am definitely in the tiger mood right now and will continue on it this week.

I still have to add in the black on the fin, it is difficult to see the black in the picture.

I hope everyone has had a good January and is looking forward the the upcoming month. I am three months away from finishing my degree!

Talk to everyone next week,
Rebekah

Late Update

Hello Everyone,

I am a little late on the update this week. I was able to work on the salmon a bit and have finished the highest point and also worked a bit on the tiger.

 Close-up of first figure:

Doing the figures within the sockeye is quite fun as they come together quickly and really grab the eye (hard to see here as it is zoomed in). I will probably do the underbelly of the fish next so that the width of the sockeye will be apparent.

Have a good week,

Finish and Updates

I have finished a crewel design. The original pattern used wool on linen and I thought it was okay but I enjoy cotton thread more. So I redid the pattern on grey cotton using DMC threads.

It was a fairly quick stitch up and the colours really remind me of winter. The original used fall browns and reds but I liked the blues as more of an abstract tree. I am thinking of doing a tree for each of the seasons that just has different colours and a different stitch for the ground. I used a variation of a chain stitch in light grey for this one.

Over the break I also did some work on the tiger and sockeye.

For the next week I will be working on the sockeye I think although I like the tiger for travelling.

Hope everyone had a good holiday season.
